Adopt A Pencil Educational Trust, established in 2020 in Delhi, is a social impact organisation committed to creating a sustainable and inclusive learning ecosystem. We work across Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, focusing on the connection between environment, education, and livelihood opportunities.

Our purpose is simple:

To replace traditional wooden pencils with recycled paper pencils—reducing deforestation, minimising landfill waste, and supporting dignified livelihood opportunities for families in need.

We collect waste paper from schools, colleges, offices, residential societies, and institutions, and transform it into eco-friendly recycled pencils. This process not only protects thousands of trees and prevents significant amounts of waste from reaching landfills but also allows us to distribute these recycled pencils free of cost to underprivileged students, making learning more accessible, affordable, and environmentally responsible.

The pencil-making process creates home-based livelihood opportunities for women and men from low-income communities, enabling them to earn a stable income while staying close to their families.

We also conduct Environmental Education programs in schools, organise sustainability workshops, and lead tree plantation and maintenance drives to build awareness and inspire long-term behavioural change.
